A tasty game of hide and seek

Your favourite event on the culinary calendar is back. The largest weekend truffle festival outside of Europe, Truffle Melbourne, is returning to the Queen Victoria Market later this month.

Head down to the market on Saturday, June 17 and Sunday the 18th for two days of truffle celebrations.

The entire market will be ripe with truffle products from not only Australia, but around the world.

Walk the Market Truffle Trail, a variety of stalls showcasing truffle products including truffled eggs, cheeses, butter and honey.

While you’re there, why not grab a bite to eat from market favourite Pickett’s Deli and Rotisserie, who will be serving up delicious deli meals from along the truffle trail all weekend.

Get a real taste of truffles in the iconic Queen St Plaza, where delectable, ready-to-eat truffle treats will be on offer.

Why not try a truffle burger and fries from St Kilda Burger Bar?

If Italian is what you’re after, taste the wood-fired pizza and truffle arancini from Woodstock Pizzicheria.

After something quick and easy? Toasta has you covered with truffle toasties.

For dessert, sink your spoon into an incredible truffle crème brulee from The Brulee Cart.

Adults, take a well deserved break and enjoy some truffle matched wines, truffle beer, truffle gin and even truffle vodka at the Truffle Melbourne Festival Bar.

School will be in session over the Truffle Melbourne weekend, with Melbourne’s best truffle chefs teaching you how to use truffles at home.

Legendary chefs Philippe Mouchel from Philippe Restaurant, Joe Vargetto from Massi and Mister Bianco, award-winning cheese maker Giorgio Linguanto from That’s Amore Cheese and Michael Cole from Georgie Bass Cafe and Cookery are just a few names that will be there to teach you all things truffle.

In what will easily be the most adorable part of the Truffle Melbourne weekend, your favourite truffle hunting dogs Spice and Arrow and their brothers and sisters will demonstrate their abilities in mock truffle hunts!

As always, there will be plenty of live music to keep you entertained over the weekend’s festivities.

Truffle Melbourne is open from 9am – 3pm on Saturday, June 17 and from 9am – 4pm on Sunday, June 18.
