All alone, but still smiling

Steve Everett was quite alone when he came to town for Vietnam Veterans Day on August 18.
The 69-year-old former national serviceman travelled down from Kilmore and was expecting to catch up with old mates.
But it appeared that numbers were down this year. “Maybe it’s too cold for them this year,” Mr Everett suggested.
Vietnam Veterans Day is held on August 18 to mark the Battle of Long Tan in 1966.
