From February 1, a new SkyBus service will run between Southern Cross Station and Avalon Airport.
The new service, named SkyBus Avalon Express will replace all current transport services between the CBD and Avalon.
A quicker, easier and cheaper mode of transport to Avalon was needed as the growing Airport now caters to more than 900, 000 seats flying in and out each year.
Passengers using the SkyBus Avalon Express service will also have access to the Airport Gateway facilities at Southern Cross Station, including self serve ticket booths and free Wi-Fi.
Tourism Minister John Eren is in full support of Avalon Express.
“SkyBus’ decision to extend its services to Avalon Airport is a vote of confidence in the region and the airport,” he said. “This is fabulous news for the airport and the local community.”
