Frivolities at the Fringe Festival

The Melbourne Fringe Festival has something for everyone.

September is an exciting month to live in Melbourne.

The weather starts to warm up, and there are so many things happening!

One of the most exciting is the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Melbourne Fringe highlights everything that makes Melbourne the great city it is, with an emphasis on helping residents experience their city in a new way.

This year the festival will run from September 16 until October 4.

There will be 401 events at 174 venues, with 6000 artists involved.

Fringe Festival creative director and CEO, Simon Abrahams, said the Melbourne Fringe was not about presenting people with the obvious.

“This year’s festival is about independent artists taking risks, safe in the knowledge that they have an audience who are equally audacious and share their sense of artistic adventure,” he said.

The program offers a selection of cabaret, kids programs, circus, comedy, dance, live art, music, performance and visual art.

The sheer variety makes it hard to choose which events to go to! Here are some that will be taking place in the CBD.
