Envision future for Birrarung Marr

Envision future for Birrarung Marr

The City of Melbourne is developing a masterplan for the Birrarung Marr open space for the next 20 years.

Community input was collected between March and April to find out what aspects of Birrarung Marr the public values the most which help guide its future development.

Built in 2002, Birrarung Marr serves as a precious open space that links Federation Square with the Yarra River and Melbourne’s sports precinct.

The City of Melbourne is looking at potential improvements in the layout and infrastructure at the park and how it can be better utilised to provide a better park experience for local residents and visitors.

The community can find more information on participate.melbourne.vic.gov.au/birrarungmarr

The outcome of community consultation will be released in May, with a councillor forum to be conducted to develop a draft masterplan in July and public consultation in September.

The final masterplan will be available in January 2019.
